Australian Apprenticeships (often referred to as apprenticeships or traineeships) are available on a full-time or part-time basis for people of all ages whether you are a school-leaver, re-entering the workforce or seeking a career change. You can even begin your Australian Apprenticeship while you are still at school via an Australian School Based Apprenticeship.
Australian Apprenticeships offer opportunities for you to train, study and earn an income at a variety of qualification levels in most occupations and in traditional trades.
Apprenticeships and traineeships comprise structured training supported by a specified period of employment, supervision and hands on workplace experience.
To commence an apprenticeship or traineeship you must also:
- Be an Australian citizen, or
- Be a permanent resident, or
- Hold a temporary resident or working visa
