Australian Apprenticeships and Traineeships offer you the opportunity to earn as you learn. It is an ideal way to get the high-level skills you need for a successful career whilst getting paid.
An Apprenticeship or Traineeship is not just for young people! They are available to anyone of working age, whether you are a school-leaver, re-entering the workforce or as an adult worker looking for a career change. Completed on a full-time or part-time basis, you can even kick start your Australian Apprenticeship whilst you’re still at school.
When choosing your career pathway, it’s important to know if an Apprenticeship or Traineeship works for you. The most important thing to note is the difference between the two, which is the length of time it takes to complete.
An Apprenticeship can take up to four years to complete. You can expect to undertake an Apprenticeship when choosing a trade such as carpentry, hairdressing or electrical.
A Traineeship can take up to one or two years to complete, depending on the level of your qualification. You can expect to undertake a Traineeship when choosing a qualification such as business administration, childcare or aged care qualification.
